COARSE FISHING on BUCCLEUCH ESTATES

At present only the Drumlanrig Castle Fishings on the Queensberry Estate offers Coarse Fishing to clients, giving them the opportunity to fish for Tench and perhaps the occasional Perch.  There are currently two lochs available for let:  Morton Pond which has been available for coarse fishing for many years and the more recent Dabton Loch.

To make a booking, contact the Sporting Office on 01848 600415, use the Contact form or book online through Fish Nith.

Morton Pond

Morton Pond

Morton Pond is set amongst the beautiful, secluded landscape of the wider Queensberry Estate in the shadow of the Lowther Hills and close to the ruins of Morton Castle, an early stronghold of the Douglases.  Stocked with Tench, it is a well-established coarse fishing loch and very popular with regular fishers and visitors to the area.

Dabton Loch

Dabton Loch

Dabton Loch is located just a mile to the north of the picturesque village of Thornhill on the edge of the Dabton Estate, offering an excellent coarse fishing opportunity.  It is fully stocked with Tench and set amongst tranquil scenery providing a secluded location for a wonderful days fishing, but only a short walk away from village amenities.
