LOCH FISHING on the BOWHILL ESTATE

The Bowhill Estate has two beautiful and private lochs available for Trout fishing.  The Buccleuch stocking policies are well-known in fishing circles and both lochs are stocked with locally reared Rainbow Trout and also contain wild Brown Trout.  While bank fishing is unsuitable, well-equipped boats are supplied on both lochs.

LOWER LOCH
approx. 7 acres

Loch fishing is available on the Lower Loch, which is set within the tranquil, scenic Bowhill Estate policies surrounding Bowhill House, the magnificent Scottish Borders home of the Duke of Buccleuch.  This 7 acre Loch is one of the most scenic fishing locations in the area and is stocked with locally reared Rainbow Trout (wild Brown Trout are also present).  The loch can only be fished from the two boats provided which are fully equipped with oars, rowlocks and anchor (life jackets are essential and can be provided). Each boat can take two fishermen comfortably.  Electric outboard motors are not supplied but are permitted.  Day and Seasonal tickets are available.

UPPER LOCH

The Upper Loch is currently not available for fishing but it is hoped that it will be brought back into hand after improvements have been made.  It is situated within a beautiful and peaceful setting overlooked by the magnificent Bowhill House, home of the Duke of Buccleuch.
