CONDITIONS OF LET on the QUEENSBERRY ESTATE

PERIOD OF LET
All lochs are open from 1st March - 30 November (including Sundays)

FISHING
Fly-fishing only is permitted with barbless hooks.  Once the rod limit has been reached, rods may continue to fish on a 'catch and release' basis.  Fish should be returned as quickly as possible with the minimum of handling. The use of a gaff or any method of fishing other than the fly is prohibited.

RETURNS
A return (on the reverse of the permit card) of fish caught, by species and weight, is to be completed and returned to the Sporting Office at the end of the day (or period of fishing).  All fish returned should be included with an estimate of their weight.

KEYS
On weekdays, boathouse keys, where appropriate, are obtained from the Sporting Office at Drumlanrig Mains to which they must be returned on expiry of the permit.  On Saturdays and Sundays, or outwith normal office hours, special arrangements for their return are agreed between the Sporting Office and Tenants beforehand.

BOAT/BOATHOUSE
At the end of the day, the boat must be returned to the boathouse which must be securely locked and barred before the rods leave.  A drogue is not provided with any of the boats but can be of assistance.  Life jackets are provided and must be worn.  Any defects of damage to the boat or boathouse should be reported immediately so that repairs can be effected.

ACCIDENTS
Fishing Tenants will use the boat, boathouse and access route at their own risk and no responsibility will be accepted by The Buccleuch Estates Ltd or Buccleuch Sportings Ltd for any loss, damage or injury which may be sustained and which is due to the use of the above facilities.  If an accident occurs, Tenants are required to inform the Sporting Office and an accident form must be completed.

TUITION/GHILLIES

RENT (2010)

The rent is payable in advance on confirmation of booking and is non-returnable.  All prices are inclusive of VAT.

DAY TICKETS
This will entitle the Tenant to fish for the day, from dawn till dusk on the Loch.  The use of the boat where appropriate will be £10.00 and will go to the first request.  Buccleuch Sporting reserves the right to let rods up to the maximum number for each loch (as indicated above) on any one day.  Starburn can also be booked exclusively for the day for 3 rods for £80.00.  Each rod is entitled to retain four Trout per day.  These must be the first four fish caught.

EVENING TICKETS
Should a Loch not be booked for the day, evening tickets will be available.  This will entitle the Tenant to fish on the chosen loch from 4.30 pm until 10.30 pm.  Each rod will be entitled to retain the first two Rainbow Trout caught.

LOYALTY CARDS
The loyalty card entitles tenants to 6 reduced cost fishing trips within the location and dates as detailed above, please note this is not transferrable or refundable and cannot be carried over the agreed location or dates.  If you would like to purchase a card please contact the Sporting Office on Tel. 01848 600415.  Please make cheques payable to Buccleuch Sportings Ltd, debit and credit (2.5% charge) are also accepted.

CHILDRENS TICKETS
For Juniors aged 6 -16, £10.00 tickets are available to purchase however children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
